Ice Skating Rink - For those visitors who miss the cold and ice, the ice skating rink at The Village of Baytowne Wharf is the perfect opportunity to get into the winter spirit. The seasonal ice skating rink has become a local holiday favorite. For $10 guests can skate for an hour and a half. Skate rental is available for $2. The first hour of each day is reserved for "kids skate" for youths 12 and under. The Ice Rink is available for private functions. Destin Snowbird Club

The Destin Snowbird Club will hold registration and the Club meetings at "The Roost" at the Destin Community Center, 101 Stahlman Drive, Destin FL. Dues are $8 per year. The club's "Big Registration" is 10am-Noon Jan.3 and a second Jan.18.Regular registration is 1pm-3pm, Nov.28, Dec.5,12;Jan.9,16 and 23 and Feb.6. The club will participate in the Destin Christmas Parade Dec.10 and will host a Christmas party Dec.14 at the Pelican Beach Conference Center.

Destin's Bayou, Bay & Back 5K Run/Walk, 10K & Half Marathon sponsored by Shoreline Church

Join Biggest Loser Season 8 winner Danny Cahill, title sponsor Shoreline Church, and the Destin Area Sports Commission, during the 2nd Destin's Bayou, Bay & Back 5K Run/Walk, 10K & Half Marathon. It begins at Clement Taylor Park, 131 Calhoun Ave., in Destin, at 7:30 a.m., rain or shine. Awards will be presented to the overall winners, male and female, as well as to winners in multiple age categories. The half marathon, new to the event this year, showcases the Choctawhatchee Bay, Destin Harbor, and East Pass, as its course leads runners through Destin, along a 4-mile undeveloped stretch of Okaloosa Island, and back. Prior to Jan. 28, the race registration fee is $25 for the 5K/10K and $50 for the Half Marathon. Registration may be completed on www.Active.com, before Jan. 25, or by downloading the race brochure. On race day, the registration fee will be $30 for the 5K/10K and $65 for the Half Marathon. Registration may be completed on site. Tops in Blue Concert

To be held at the Emerald Coast Convention Center. The U.S. Air Force's Tops In Blue is offering a free night of family entertainment. In this year's show, Tops In Blue 2011 drums up their own rhythm, Audiences will be tapping their feet to pulsating music from great performers like the jazz of Nat King Cole and Billie Holiday, the great rock n' roll sounds of Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis, the cool Motown R&B of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, hits by J-Lo and Michael Franti, some inspirational country sounds and much, much more! No Tops In Blue show would be complete without famous patriotic music, as they pay tribute to the Heroes of September 11, 2001 as we recognize their sacrifices ten years later. All events take place on the beautiful beaches of Destin and surrounding areas and benefit the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.

26th Annual Sandestin® Triathlon
Throughout Sandestin® Golf and Beach Resort

The 26th Annual Destin Triathlon (formerly the Elephant Walk Triathlon) will lure 700 participants for a half-mile Gulf of Mexico swim, a 20-mile bike along the coast, and a 4-mile run through Sandestin's® beach and Bayside community.

Proceeds benefit Sacred Heart Hospital of the Emerald Coast. Updates will be sent out via our newsletter sign up online.
