Hello:
We are planning on purchasing a summer home in Destin. And, possibly making it our permanent home… Our children are in college and we have a Junior in high school. We have done extensive research on Destin, but have not been there yet. Of course, we plan to visit BEFORE we go under contract!
Anyone there who is a transplant from the North East or else where? Is Destin just good for vacations or is year round appealing as well. Please share your thoughts and experience.

We are in for a few days of cold weather which is unusal for this time of the year. But the pool water is warming up nicely, so it won’t be long before we are in the water…
Despite the slow economy, condo and resort folks are saying that bookings are holding steady, and this bodes well for the upcoming summer season. Most accommodation providers are offering specials and packages so check carefully so you don’t miss out.
